Modern Smalti Mosaic

Modern smalti mosaic colors are brighter than antique smalti mosaic, modern smalti mosaic is suitable for modern design and mosaic artists need vibrant colors.

As traditional material, Dynasty smalti slab are made in the factory in Beijing by hand with new technology, then cut these opaque glass slab to tesserae.

The larger “B” cut pieces are chunks from the whole smalti slab and are used by artists who prefer to cut their own right size. The “B” cut are approximately 5x5 cm square and irregular and are 8mm thick (2” x 2” in., 0.3” thick) They can be used flat-side up (the top surface of the pizza) or can be cut into strips with a hammer/hardie then nipped into individual pieces, using the glossy side up, as for the “A” cut, are about 1.5x0.7x0.8cm, can be used directly for smalti mosaic works. Dynasty smalti can do as customer size for example 10x10cm or even bigger.
